Why the Sinulog Rocks

Image
I was googling if any of the Press Releases I created for work were published online when I accidentally ran into an article I submitted to SunStar Daily last year. I never got to know if they published it in print but they posted it online on January of this year. Anyways...I'm adding the link here if anyone is interested to read it! ;-) http://weekend.sunstar.com.ph/blog/2014/01/10/sinulog-rocks/ I know it is way past Sinulog already but hey, it should be nice to reminisce it every now and then, right? I know I do! ;-) nmed 05/30/14 @4:13pm

BOOK REVIEW: TETHERED TWINS By Author Mike Essex

Image
I like to read but since my attention span is quite short, I am not fond of reading novels or books with many pages. I tend to just stick to either short stories or compilations instead. I did however, read this book Tethered Twins after I got a free e-book copy from free-ebooks.net and am I glad I had chosen this book as one of my 5 free e-books a month. When I searched for e-books to download, the cover photo of this book really captured my attention and so I read the synopsis and it seemed to have an interesting story so I downloaded it. After reading the very first few lines off of it, I got hooked and wanted to know what would come next. Every page was calling for the next page and so on, that even while riding the jeepney either on my way to work or on my way home, I just had to take my phone out to read the story. The author did great storytelling, and although there were some violent and gruesome scenes (which were needed to paint images of the story in the reader’s h

Titing's Story: An Inspiring Article from Sun Star Daily today May 7, 2014

Part of my work is to scan the newspapers daily and compile articles that are related to business, consumers, trade and the like but every now and then I cut out stories that really catch my attention. Be it inspiring, motivational or even funny. I cut this one out and scanned it because it was truly inspiring... it made it teary-eyed and still does. Sharing this on my blog to hopefully inspire more people. :-) You don't need to make a difference to many lives, sometimes, you just need to make a difference in one. ;-) nmed 05/07/14

Product Review: Magnolia Pancake Plus (with maple syrup)

Image
I always like to make something from scratch but there are times when I just want to get something from the grocery aisle, open the package, pour the contents and just whip it up in a jiffy! So when I went to the grocery the other day, I grabbed a box of instant pancakes, cooked it yesterday and here is my review. By the way, I have 2 favorite fast-food pancakes - McDonalds with their regular pancakes and KFC with their chocolate chip pancakes, but in lieu of those good ones, this is a definite must-try! PRODUCT NAME: Magnolia Pancake Plus (with maple syrup) PRICE: 31.80 pesos at Gaisano Capital South The instruction was to add 2/3 cup water but I added 1 cup so I can make more pancakes and it still tasted great, no eggs and no orange juice needed. (perfect for those working under a budget) After adding water to the powder, it mixes easily and not a lot of effort is needed to get the lumps out. (yey, no muscle-creating exercise here!) The package says, “makes 12 m
