Create your own animated gif in three easy steps

Image
If you would like to create your own animated gif for your projects or just to spice up your website but have little to no experience, here are three simple steps to creating your own gif like a pro! Step 1:  In the application paint (or any other visual application you have) , create your own drawings. (These can also be your pictures.) Here are the drawings I created in Paint. Because I want to create a visual story, all of my pictures have a certain order.     Step 2:   Once you have your drawings/pictures completed, open the http://picasion.com/ website. There are many other online free applications available but so far this one has been simple and easy to use on standard images so I am recommending it. (If I am not mistaken, there are other websites that can process audio and video files, depending on the complexity of the gif you are trying to create. Mine is pretty simple for now.)   Step 3:  While in the http://picasion.com/ website,

Creative Juices Art Project: my very own animated gif

Just because I feel more creative and want to add other types of media to my blog.. I decided to create my own GIF. The drawings were mine but there is an online application that will automate it for you - http://gifmaker.me/. Try it out as well! For those who are not familiar with GIF, here is a Wikipedia description: The  Graphics Interchange Format  (better known by its acronym  GIF ;  / ˈ dʒ ɪ f /  or  / ˈ ɡ ɪ f / ) is a  bitmap image format  that was introduced by  CompuServe  in 1987 [1]  and has since come into widespread usage on the  World Wide Web  due to its wide support and portability. In layman's term, it simply means an animated picture or group of pictures. Anyway, here is my little art project of sorts.. hehe... I might actually add this "skill" to my resume once I perfect it. (assuming I do ofcourse.. hehehe..good luck to that!) Here is another first for me as well.. (not sure why but when it is saved as a gif, it reduces the resolution and

Drawing 101.2

Because I am working hard at improving my drawing skills (if you could actually call it that.. hehe..) , I have created another Paint drawing of my outfit for today. Not sure if it has improved since yesterday but here are a few observations:            - It is harder to use the mouse to draw that it is to use the pencil or the pen (I have nothing but respect and awe to the graphic artists for being so good with their craft while using only the mouse!)            - It is better to work on your project when it is zoomed in because you can see the lines better, but to appreciate it, you need to zoom out for the bird's eye view                  - Paint is not the best application to use for nice drawings because of its limited functions but it is one of the best tools to get elementary drawing lessons like what I am getting right now... ;-)             - If it is hard to draw figures, it is much harder to draw letters. I am actually quite good at lettering with

Drawing 101

Since yesterday, while I obsessed about what to wear for this Saturdays debutante party with the goddess theme that we were invited to; and after googling images of “goddess costumes/dresses, etc”; I’ve started sketching what I think I might/should wear. What was supposed to be just a sketch of what I would wear quickly became more sketches of other dresses and designs. I took pictures of those so I can upload them here later.   (They don’t really offer me bragging rights, but certainly a start at gaining or improving my drawing skills.. hehe) Honestly, if I had some talent in drawing, it would definitely be limited to stick figures, suns, moons, stars, flowers, spider webs, trees, apples, nipa huts and other very simple things. (Ofcouse the basic shapes are a given) I envy those who can draw (and those who can dance) and even envisioned myself making my own comics! (Greatly inspired by the blog posts on LET ME BE FRANK, which I really enjoy reading) I can dream of course, ri

Another perspective on the ordinary nail cutter and jeepney driver....

Image
I decided to add an educational/historical/scientific element to my blog in the hopes of giving a little bit of importance to ordinary items/persons that we use/mingle with on a daily basis. Just some things that we normally take for granted and only realize their need or use when they are missing or no longer available. For my first item, I chose the humble and sometimes insignificant nail cutter. Item:     Nail Cutter Reason for Choosing:       My nails seem (or at least I think it does) to grow quicker than anyone else’s and so I like to keep a nail cutter in my bag, handy and ready for when the need arises. However, it appears I have misplaced both my nail cutters and so my fingernails are longer than I need them to be. I keep my fingernails really short and because they are longer now, it is quite uncomfortable when typing on the keyboard and hazardous to the face and body (mine especially) when too much force is applied. I also think long fingernails are

Me @ 33

I realized just last week that my age right now is my favorite number doubled. It just dawned on me that I am actually already 33. (I know, it took me a month and 10 days to realize that but for some reason for the past few months I felt like I was in a cave and have just recently emerged, ergo, the late realization…) My favorite number is 3 and since it is 3 doubled, I thought, maybe this is a good year for me. Hmm.. Hopefully it is! Just for curiosity sake though, I googled the number 33 and found some interesting stuff relating to the number: In Science: • A normal human spine has 33 vertebrae when the bones that form the coccyx are counted individually • 33 is, according to the Newton scale, the temperature at which water boils In Religion: • Jesus's age when he was crucified in 33 A.D., according to many Christian traditions, though not verified historically. • According to Al-Ghazali the dwellers of Heaven will exist eternally in a state of being age 33.

A few random things....

Image
Just a few random things I was wanting to blog about but have not had the time so they’re all going in at once…. Last week, I chanced upon a Zumba class at Metro Gaisano Colon store and I took a video to upload here but my computer access will not let me so I will have to forego that for now. It made me want to write about dancing and how I’ve not been given that talent. I’ve tried joining one at the IT Park before but I always ended up doing the opposite of what the instructor was doing – if she was moving her right foot, I seem to be moving my left.. grrr..I will always envy those who can dance. I should really try and enroll in a dance class and torture my dance instructor… hmm… ---- Right after taking a video of the Zumba class, Itoy and I went straight to the game arcade in Metro Gaisano Colon and I got excited with their new games. They’ve added 2 games that let you win stuffed animals after either shooting hoops or shooting darts and hitting balloons with prizes inside

The power of ideas

Image
I’ve always been an ideas person. I notice and love novel ideas as I see them. I also have this tendency to test the essence and value of any idea. (That might sound very complicated but all it really means is I try and figure out if the idea creator had some common sense in bringing the idea into place.) Just the other day, I saw a banner hanging in Lahug that really caught my attention. ROSE + CLINIC By looking at the words alone, it doesn’t really strike an interesting chord but if you dig deeper, there is a novel and excellent idea underneath. Rose Pharmacy has been in the business of selling medicines and medical supplies in the Philippines for a while now but the novel concept (i.e. value-added service ) that they’ve initiated is the addition of a Clinic. Yes! A clinic within a pharmacy. Genius, right? And who would’ve thought someone would catch on with this idea. (Not really sure if the concept is already in place in other countries but in the Philippines, I thin
